I admit that I hesitated even typing the words for this subject.  As a socially conservative Christian, I don’t know how many times I’ve read someone suggesting that I want to “legislate morality.”  Frankly, I’m tired of hearing it. How fitting that we struggle with skyrocketing tax bills on this Fourth of July.  You know it's bad when Matt Tully calmly explains "civics 101" to the citizenry and security guards protect assessors' offices.  It is unconscionable that the legislature knew it was coming all along -- a perfect storm of court-directed tax reform, legislative inaction, municipal pressure cookers, and runaway school spending and you've got fireworks like the Fourth of July.
